Pronunciation through reading: diction for opera singers

The seminar will focus on the pronunciation of Italian through the reading of newspaper articles and passages from Italian literature. Individual students will be supplied with vocabulary lists enabling them to focus on and practise specific pronunciation difficulties. During the course, students will be taught how to recognise and imitate the sounds of the Italian language in a series of games and group activities aimed to help them overcome the difficulties facing any speaker of a foreign tongue. This seminar is recommended for opera singers and all those who use Italian for their work.
